The story

Working for a local council, Scott at Midlands Flooring needed a safer entrance matting for an over-50s housing unit where the existing doormat was causing problems for residents.

The challenge

The communal entrance was wet and slippery, and the existing conventional doormat created a trip hazard for elderly residents, including people using walking sticks or wheelchairs.

The solution

Scott chose Mat-Well Tile Pro - 16mm from First Mats and built a custom inlay matwell at the main communal entrance. The tiles were installed flush with the floor, and the click-together format made them straightforward to cut and fit on site.

The result

The new flush matting system removed the trip hazard and provided a safer, slip-resistant entrance. Residents with mobility aids could move across the area more easily, and Scott was pleased with the ordering process and product quality.

Fantastic product, First Mats quoted how many tiles were needed, and these were easy to cut down and click together on site.
