 What are Fire Extinguisher Cabinets?

Fire Extinguisher Cabinets are durable, secure and weatherproof cabinets for storing and protecting fire extinguishers. They all have:

• A retaining strap that holds the fire extinguisher securely in place and is easy to release in an emergency
• A locking mechanism
• ‘Fire Safety’ red colouring with the required white fire extinguisher sign on them

Some Fire Extinguisher Cabinets can hold two fire extinguishers – these are known as Double Fire Extinguisher Cabinets – and are ideal when more than one size or type of fire extinguisher is needed on site.

Fire Extinguisher Cabinets are designed to hold different sizes of fire extinguisher, from 6 Ltr/Kg to 12 Ltr/Kg, as well as the C02 fire extinguisher which needs a different shaped cabinet to fit in.

Not necessarily. But if your premises is accessed by the public, or you plan to store your fire extinguisher outside or in corrosive environments, you must protect them to meet BS 5306 Standards covering fire safety.
