Fire Extinguisher Cabinets - More Information

Fire Extinguisher Cabinet

 What are Fire Extinguisher Cabinets?

Fire Extinguisher Cabinets are durable, secure and weatherproof cabinets for storing and protecting fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment. Our fire extinguisher cabinets all have:

  • A retaining strap that holds the fire extinguisher securely in place and is easy to release in an emergency
  • A locking mechanism
  • ‘Fire Safety’ red colouring with the required white fire extinguisher sign on them

Some Fire Extinguisher Cabinets can hold two fire extinguishers – these are known as Double Fire Extinguisher Cabinets – and are ideal when more than one size or type of fire extinguisher is needed on site.

How do Fire Extinguisher Cabinets work?

The Fire Extinguisher Cabinet provides a secure, robust, weatherproof storage space for the fire extinguisher, keeping it clean and free of damage ready for use.

What kinds of fire extinguishers are Fire Extinguisher Cabinets recommended for?

Fire Extinguisher Cabinets are designed to hold different sizes of fire extinguisher, from 6 Ltr/Kg to 12 Ltr/Kg, as well as CO2 extinguishers which needs a different shaped cabinet to fit in.

What are the benefits of using Fire Extinguisher Cabinets?

They keep the fire extinguisher safe and ready to use in an emergency, by protecting fire extinguishers from:

  • harsh work environments such as construction sites
  • corrosive work environments
  • knocks and blunt force impacts
  • damage caused by being stored outdoors: rain, snow etc as well as leaves, dust and other debris getting into the nozzle cavity and rendering the fire extinguisher useless
  • being tampered with, stolen or vandalised – a crucial factor if your fire extinguishers can be accessed by the public

Do I need to have a fire extinguisher cabinet?

Not necessarily. But if your premises are accessed by the public, or you plan to store your fire extinguisher outside or in corrosive environments, you must protect them to meet BS 5306 Standards covering fire safety. Our fire extinguisher cabinets are the perfect way to ensure that your extinguishers are fully protected to these standards.
